Comprehensive climate and ESG management and disclosure solutions for credible, simple compliance and performance

Veriport is inviting expressions of interest from organisations in Africa.

One organisation will be selected in each participating country to apply the GRI Standards using Veriport, supported by country-specific materials and additional implementation guidance from GRI.

Participating countries are currently Botswana, Egypt, Ghana, Kenya and Rwanda, with more to follow soon.

Selected organisations will qualify for various benefits and opportunities.

About the programme

GRI is developing supporting materials that consider the regulatory environment, reporting context and relevant sector information within selected African countries.

As a GRI Software and Tools Partner, Veriport will make these materials available through its ESG reporting platform and incorporate them into the selected organisation’s implementation process.

The programme will provide an opportunity to apply the GRI Standards alongside the relevant country-specific materials, with closer support during onboarding, configuration and training.

What the selected organisation will receive

The selected organisation in each country will receive:

  • Early access to the relevant country-specific supporting materials developed by GRI

  • A Veriport ESG reporting platform licence at a discounted programme rate

  • Configuration of the Veriport ESG Framework to support the organisation’s reporting requirements

  • An extended onboarding and implementation process

  • Additional training on the relevant GRI disclosures and country-specific guidance

  • Access to selected complementary GRI e-learning resources

  • Support in applying the materials through the Veriport platform

  • Opportunities to provide practical implementation feedback

  • Possible case study driven media opportunities

The final implementation scope will be agreed with each selected organisation based on its reporting requirements, sector and current level of reporting maturity.

How the programme works

1. Expression of interest

Interested organisations submit brief information about their operations, reporting objectives and existing sustainability reporting activities.

2. Selection

Veriport will assess participating organisations in consultation with GRI and select one suitable organisation in each country.

3. Scoping and configuration

Veriport will work with the selected organisation to define its reporting scope, identify relevant GRI disclosures and configure the platform.

4. Onboarding and training

The organisation will receive additional onboarding and training covering the Veriport platform, the applicable GRI Standards and the relevant country-specific supporting materials.

5. Implementation

The organisation will use Veriport to collect information, manage disclosures and develop its sustainability reporting content.

6. Feedback

Practical feedback from the implementation process may be used to support further refinement of the country-specific materials and their application through the platform.

Who should apply

The programme may be suitable for an organisation that:

  • Operates in one of the participating countries

  • Intends to begin or strengthen its sustainability reporting

  • Is committed to applying the GRI Standards

  • Can appoint an internal project lead and relevant data contributors

  • Is willing to participate in onboarding and training

  • Can provide practical feedback on the implementation experience

  • Is prepared to complete the agreed implementation process
